    • No. This version has a pre-installed 850nm multimode LC fiber transceivers already pre-installed in both sides. But you can feel free to change SFPs to other distance or fiber type should you wish to do so.

    • This device works only with Ethernet-to-fiber links. It cannot replace ISP ONTs like FiOS or GPON. Ensure 850nm multimode fiber is used at both ends and ST connectors are compatible, and make sure fiber port speed is Gigabit, not Fast Ethernet or 10G

    • The most common issue is TX/RX mismatch — swap RX and TX at one side. Also, if you use only 1 unit, make sure both sides use 850nm multimode fiber, and make sure the fiber port speed is Gigabit, not Fast Ethernet or 10G

    • No, this cannot replace ISP ONTs like Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber, AT&T Fiber, or CenturyLink. These providers use GPON/XGS-PON, which requires their own ONT. This converter works only for standard Ethernet-to-fiber extensions, not ISP connections.

    • No, you can use it only with Multimode fiber, i.e OM1/2/3/4 or higher.
