High Impact Ethyl Alcohol contains 99.5% ethanol and 0.5% ionized water. Ethanol, one of the main alcohols, is a fundamental raw material in manufacturing a wide variety of chemical products. It can be made from molasses by fermentation or ethylene by hydration. In the transfer hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds in the presence of sodium hydroxide, it serves both as a source of hydrogen and as a reaction medium. Anhydrous solvents have very low water content and leave a minimal residue.
